A simple 24' by 40' floor plan, designed and built to fit into its surroundings. Situated on a sloping site backed up against the woods, the house benefits from the southern exposure and overlooks garden & pasture. The rustic board and batten cedar siding was stained a silvery gray to match the weathered exterior of neighboring buildings.

The porch all along the south side of the house overlooks the garden and pasture areas.

Exposed 6" timber posts and trusses (with visible steel ties & connectors) create an expansive barn-like interior, 21' from floor to roof beam. Kitchen work counter visible in the left lower corner of this picture.

This is looking west. The gray material behind the wood-stove is poured concrete cast on hand-split cedar, leaving a wood-grained relief pattern on the resulting concrete "planks." The work counter at the right was custom built for the owner, using the same flooring material used in the house. It has a built-in cooktop, and the north wall is lined with kitchen cabinets and counters.
